Geopolitics and geoeconomics were until recently fairly unusual terms in public discourse. Global developments in 2025 however, show that the trend of growing uncertainty and volatility in the political, economic, security and business domains continues, and likely will remain, as the established architecture for international cooperation is increasingly challenged and redefined. Tariffs on global trade are approaching levels not seen for nearly a century, while Europe and Greece must act decisively to advance their competitiveness and productivity to keep pace with rapid developments in the US and China.
