Ms. Diana Janse is the State Secretary for Foreign Trade to Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade.

With over 25 years of experience in diplomacy, security policy, and international development, she has held senior roles in the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and abroad. Janse previously served as State Secretary for International Development Cooperation (2022–2025), and as Swedish Ambassador to Mali, Lebanon, and Georgia. Her earlier postings include Afghanistan, Russia, and the EU Council Secretariat in Brussels. 

She has also worked as a foreign and security policy advisor to the Moderate Party and as a Senior Fellow at the foreign policy think tank Frivärld. Janse holds an M.Sc. in Political Science and a B.Sc. in Russian from Uppsala University. Known for her strategic insight and international experience, she plays a key role in shaping Sweden’s trade and development agenda. She lives in Stockholm with her husband and child.
