Maria Boura is a senior ICT executive, a thought leader and an inspirational speaker on matters of 5G & beyond, Women and Leadership. She has been at the forefront of the introduction of all generations of mobile technology in South East Europe. In addition, Maria is highly committed to help increase the number of women in STEM and in senior leadership positions across the world (co-founder of the Sweden-based NGO Women Leadership Hub since 2016). She is also mentoring start-ups in collaboration with key startup organizations.

As of February 2022, Maria works independently as a Non Executive Director in companies BoDs and as an Executive Advisor on Strategy, Leadership, 5G & beyond matters. Her mission is twofold: to assist governments shape successful digital policies, and to support market players at any industry develop effective growth strategies leveraging cutting-edge technologies - such as 5G, IoT, AI. Prior to that, Maria has been for decades a senior regional executive and spokesperson at Ericsson, a leading supplier of Information & Communications Technology to telecom operators worldwide.

She has also worked at Intracom Telecom as an R&D Software Engineer and at the Hellenic National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" as a Researcher. Maria holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Patras and an MSc in Telecommunications from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.
